IS THIS THING ON?

Interviews aplenty!

Production continues on “Hollywood East” with audio designer Rob Hill, formerly of Disney.   Rob has been a professional audio mixer in Central Florida for over 4 decades!  This made him a great candidate for our second interview, since he could give us some pointers for making sure we were capturing quality audio from the get-go.

Another great interview with some more interesting stories from a guy who was there with his hands on the controls all along! Rob had some unique opinions about why the rides won out over the studios at Disney.

And a special shout-out goes out to the fine folks at Ty Fy Studios for allowing us to use one of their audio mixing bays for our shoot. It looks great and sounds good too!

Rob Hill

From his early work in Boston, to Disney ideas, through his independent years, Rob has become a highly respected creative in his field.  Rob discussed the various stages of his career and shared stories working with Jim Henson, Christina Aguilera (and the “All New Mickey Mouse Club”) as well as with Disney Animation, on projects including “Mulan” and “Brother Bear”.

Behind the scenes

The Shoot

We interviewed Rob at Ty Fy Studios in Orlando, who allowed us to utilize one of their audio bays as a perfect backdrop.  We also upgraded our audio set-up, as recommended by Rob, to include a new Sennheiser boom mic and Zoom recorder to ensure we were getting the best audio possible at the highest bit rate possible.
